X-Rays

Full spine x-rays are essential to Gonstead chiropractic. It is important to view the structures of your spine to find signs of pathology and fractures, evaluate overall posture while weight bearing, and visualize the joints of the spine and condition of the discs. Our doctors also use x-rays to visualize what position the vertebrae are in so they can adjust the spine as gently, specifically, and effectively as possible.

Case History

Understanding problems with a patient’s health helps us determine the area that a patient needs to be adjusted. Symptoms can help separate the two parts of the Autonomic Nervous System (sympathetic and parasympathetic) and aid us in applying a specific adjustment.

Instrumentation

A dual probe instrument (Nervoscope or Delta-T) is used to get a bilateral temperature comparison of the spine to locate areas of inflammation. The readings obtained through instrumentation will show whether or not subluxations are present, if they are being corrected, and when correction has been attained.

Static Palpation

When subluxated, your spine will send warning signs. Our doctors will use their hands to palpate your spine to find edema, swelling, and tender or tight muscle fiber.

Motion Palpation

Like static palpation, our doctors palpate the spine while moving your spine in different angles to determine range of motion on how easily or difficult each segment of your spine moves. Motion palpation is used to determine a subluxation and its listing.

What is the Gonstead System?

The gonstead technique is the specific system our doctors use to analyze and adjust your spine. It is a gentle, effective, and precise technique in evaluating and adjusting the spine. No one thing is certain which is why we use many tools to determine the exact spot that we need to adjust. The greater the specificity, the greater the change we will notice in the patient’s health.
